Who is eligible?
- All science majors
- Students from groups underrepresented in the sciences, engineering, mathematics, and healthcare professions
- Students receiving EOF support
- Transfer students
For the purpose of better preparing science majors for acceptance into post-graduate science and health professional programs, ODASIS has defined first-year, second-year, and third-year students with the following criteria:
- You are defined as a first-year student if you are currently completing General Biology or General Chemistry and one semester of college math.
- You are defined as a second-year student if you are currently completing Organic Chemistry.
- You are defined as a third-year student if you plan on taking the MCAT/DAT/GRE this current spring semester.
Below are the ODASIS stipulations for continued participation:
- 1st Year Students - You must have at least a 2.8 cumulative GPA by the end of the most recent semester to continue in ODASIS for the spring semester.
- 2nd Year Students - You must have at least a 3.1 cumulative GPA. If you are missing one or more of these requirements (B: General Biology, C: General Chemistry, and C+: Math), you must show significant improvement in the subsequent semester with at least a 3.5 term GPA.
- 3rd Year Students - You must have at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA and a 3.0 science GPA.
Please Note: If you receive 2 red flags (for academic reasons, conduct issues, etc.), you will be dismissed from the program.
