Academic support and enrichment
Academic support is provided through supplemental instruction and/or discussion groups in the following subjects:
Organic Chemistry 160:307 and 160:308
Calculus 640:135 and/or Statistics 960:401
Genetics 447:380
Systems Physiology 146:356
Intro to Biochemistry 694:301
Functional Human Anatomy 377:213
Academic enrichment is provided through the medical conferences hosted by Robert Wood Johnson Medical School twice per year and through various trips to tri-state area medical schools.
How to apply?
Students eligible to apply:
1. Are ethnically identified as part of one of the underrepresented groups in medicine: African American, Hispanic, and Native American.
2. Have completed the following courses: General Biology 101 and 102; General Chemistry 161 and 162; one semester of college math (precalculus or calculus), and one semester of college English (Expository Writing).
3. Have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.9
Application
A complete application consists of the following:
1. Completed form
2. Copy of official transcripts
3. Two letters of academic recommendations, one of which must be from a science or math instructor
4. Two-page personal statement
Deadline
Applications may be submitted twice per year: the first week of September or the first week of February.
