Access-Med Phase II

Program Overview

Access-Med Phase II is a transitional year program in which accepted students are simultaneously admitted to Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS). Students take four medical school courses in their senior year, while still completing their BA/BS degree at Rutgers University.

Eligibility Requirements

• Student must be of African American, Puerto Rican, Mexican American, or Native American descent. Other Hispanic students may be considered if they have significant financial need, demonstrated by a NJ Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) grant.
• Must be an Access Med Phase I student and should have participated in the ODASIS MCAT/DAT Preparatory Program
• Must have a cumulative and science GPA of at least 3.4
• Students must be eligible for graduation from Rutgers University at the end of the "transitional year" at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

• 1. Completed Student Information Form
• 2. Four (4) letters of recommendation
• 3. Personal statement
• 4. Official transcript
